School Age Childcare

At Buttercup Childcare, we provide welcoming, reliable care for school-age children Monday to Friday, helping to make family life easier for working parents.

Our school age services

Breakfast Club: 7.45am to 8.45am

After-School Care, Junior and Senior Infants: 1.40pm to 5.40pm

After-School Care, 1st to 6th Class: 2.40pm to 5.40pm

Our friendly team safely escorts children to the local national school each morning following Breakfast Club, and collects them from school each afternoon.

If your child is attending a school activity or event that finishes later than their usual collection time, we are happy to arrange collection at the later time. Parents are asked to let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

School closures and half days

We understand that school closures and half days can be challenging for working families. When the local national school is closed or finishes early, Buttercup Childcare can provide half-day or full-day care within our normal opening hours, subject to availability.

Our aim is to provide a safe, warm and welcoming home-from-home environment where children feel comfortable, supported and happy before and after school and during school closures.

Enrolment and waiting list

Places are in demand, so we recommend adding your child to our waiting list as early as possible.

A €200 deposit per child is required to secure an SAC place. The deposit is fully refundable in October once your child has taken up their place.

If you decide not to proceed with your place:

6 or more full calendar months’ notice – 100% refund

3 to 6 full calendar months’ notice – 50% refund

Less than 3 full calendar months’ notice – no refund

The deposit is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled without the required notice, or if the child does not take up their SAC place.

All bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once the completed enrolment form and required information and deposit have been returned to Buttercup Childcare.
