Our pre school service is offered to children from 2 years and 8 months. The service is offered for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, 38 weeks of the year in line with our school calendar. The Early childhood care and Education (ECCE) scheme provides early childhood care and education for children of pre school age from 2 years and 8 months for a two-year duration.
What is the ECCE scheme?
All children are entitled to 2 full academic years on the ECCE (3-hour) scheme. Children are eligible to start the ECCE scheme in the September of the year that they turn 2 years and 8 months old before 1st September, that year. Please check the eligibility calculator here.

We, at Buttercup Childcare are registered providers of the ECCE Preschool Years for children. Our ECCE session normally runs from 9am to 12pm Monday to Friday – These hours are free of charge if your child qualifies. ** You can choose to increase your child’s care to part time care up to 5 hours per day at buttercups after-school at an additional cost. **
